Overview | #87: Bob Mould – “Low Season” (2014) Top Track | #87: Bob Mould – “Low Season” (2014)

Silver AgeI really enjoyed Bob Mould‘s 2012 album Silver Age and its lead track, “Star Machine,” so I was looking forward to the inevitable follow-up, which arrived in mid-2014 in the form of Beauty & Ruin. Once again, my favorite track on it is the opener, “Low Season.” There are some other good tracks on the album as well (I gave the album a good review), but the muscular “Low Season” is the only song on it that makes my Top Tracks of 2014 list.

Recommended listening:

  • Bob Mould – “See a Little Light” (1989)
  • Bob Mould – “Star Machine” (2012)
  • Bob Mould – “Little Glass Pill” (2014)
  • Bob Mould – “Tomorrow Morning” (2014)
  • Bob Mould – “The War” (2014)

Also, be sure to read Stephen Thomas Erlewine’s review of Beauty & Ruin on AllMusic if you are unfamiliar with “Low Season” or Bob Mould.
