Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 turns out to be a mixed bag; it improves on the original in many ways but lacks the first film’s freshness and its story doesn’t have much bearing on the rest of the rest of the Infinity Saga.

Guardians of the Galaxy expands the potential of the MCU pretty vastly, properly introducing not just the Infinity Stones and Thanos, but also a cast of characters and deep-space locations that greatly stretch the scope of what can be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
