While not an outright bad movie by any means, Iron Man 2 is certainly a misfire by MCU standards. Though it’s suitably spectacular, Iron Man 2 is noticeably less than the sum of its parts and is inferior to its predecessor.

The one that started it all, Iron Man remains a breezily entertaining movie today, even if the stakes feel pretty low now compared to what comes later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Still, as a comic book adaptation and superhero origin story, Iron Man is one of the best movies of its kind.
