Dizzy Gillespie redefines the meaning of a ‘recital’ in this recording that features a quintet that’s most notable for the presence of tenor saxophone legend Hank Mobley, along with pianist Wade Legge, Lou Hackney on bass and drummer Charlie Persip. In addition to Dizzy’s singing and playing on the original 1954 quintet session for Norgran, this album features vocalists Toni Harper and Herb Lance on three tracks from 1955.
