Recently discovered in the Verve vaults, this previously unreleased 1965 live recording from the legendary club The Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach, California finds the Jimmy Smith trio digging into a deeply greasy, bluesy, funky groove performing a previous hit, “The Sermon”; jazz standards; and a new Smith blues. Featuring guitarist Quentin Warren and drummer Billy Hart.
