One-Step vinyl pressing removes generational loss in the process of creating metal stampers to press records. The Definitive Sound Series meticulous One-Step process creates the definitive-sounding audiophile version of all-time classic albums. A Perfect Circle's Mer de Noms was mastered from 96kHz/24bit files transferred from analog flat masters to ensure Mer de Noms has never sounded better! The recording of this loud rock record into quiet passages presented on this Definitive Sound Series One-Step version give the listener a feeling of being in the studio.

Released in May 2000, Mer de Noms ("Sea of Names" in French) was the debut album from A Perfect Circle, the brainchild of guitarist Billy Howerdel and fronted by Tool's enigmatic vocalist Maynard James Keenan. At the time, Tool was already a powerhouse in progressive metal, but Keenan wanted an outlet for music with a different emotional weight — less mathematical precision, more melodic mood. Fans of Tool were hungry for new music, and this album delivered something familiar but refreshingly different.

The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, the highest-ever debut for a rock band's first release at the time. It quickly went platinum, propelled by heavy radio and MTV rotation for "Judith" and strong critical buzz.

This DSS version is limited to a one-time pressing of 3,000 numbered copies, includes a top-quality heavyweight tip-on double gatefold jacket and is housed inside a uniquely designed slipcase.

Special care has been taken to faithfully preserve the original sound with exceptional clarity and depth, capturing the recording's nuances at every step, in order to create the definitive-sounding record.

One-Step lacquer processing is regarded among audiophiles and collectors for its unparalleled sound fidelity, representing the pinnacle of vinyl manufacturing and the listening experience.
